Blistered Shishito Peppers are a great appetizer or snack. For the most part, they are mild and sweet, but occasionally you may bite into a hot one. How do you tell if a shishito pepper is hot or not? Just bite into it. You can find these peppers are gourmet stores or in farmers markets. I normally purchase them at Eataly in NYC for about $5 per pound.
