During my road trip to Hana, we stopped by a spot called Bruddah Hutts BBQ Grill – I don’t have an exact address for it since it’s a BBQ grill and table set up in front of the grillmaster’s house. It’s south of the town Hana – and you’ll see a sign for it on the bay-side of the road as you are headed on to the Seven Sacred pools. I’ve added the location to Foursquare as well.
It’s been several weeks since I ate there, but the prices were reasonable. I believe a range of $9-$13. The menu items vary from grilled pork, beef or chicken. The pork lover I am decided to go for the grilled pork loin plate lunch* (pictured left). The cook also hooked me up with some BBQ Chicken. I guess he noticed how enthusiastic I was about eating his BBQ. Anyway, the meat was tender and flavorful. It didn’t need it, but I doused the meat his homemade hot sauce – a perfect blend of hot peppers, vinegar, and garlic. You won’t feel the heat for the first few seconds but after some time, you’ll begin to feel it. Mmmm!!!
So if you’re in the Hana vicinity, stop by, grab a plate, and enjoy!
* Plate lunch is a meal consisting of meat, 2 scoops of rice (or as what the locals say, 2 scoop rice), and a scoop of mac salad.
