Blue Smoke is one of the best barbecue restaurants in the Gramercy section of NYC. Better than Hill Country, located a few blocks away, I’d say yes. Come with a big appetite, the servings are quite hefty.

Entrees
If you don’t mind the mess (and licking your fingers), go for the ribs. They offer three types:
- Kansas City Spareribs Big, juicy, spicy and sweet, slathered with our KC Sauce
Half Rack $14.95; Full Rack $24.95You know what a juicy rib is like? Lots of love, aka fat. So if you don’t mind eating it, go for it. I prefer a leaner rib like the Memphis baby back ribs (below)
- Memphis Baby Back Ribs Our leanest rib, with Magic Dust and Original Sauce
Half Rack $14.95; Full Rack $24.95 - Texas Salt & Pepper Beef Ribs Dry-rubbed and full of smoky flavor. No sauce necessary
Half Rack $15.95; Full Rack $25.95
Undecided? I was. I recommend choosing the Rib Sampler – 2 Memphis Baby Backs, 2 Kansas City Spareribs and 1 Texas Beef Rib, $19.95
Runner Up:
Pulled Pork Platter with Pit Beans, Sesame Slaw and Homemade White Bread $18.50
> I’m not a big fan of pulled pork, but my brother (also a foodie) loved it.
Sides
Braised collard greens with bacon, $5.95
Baked pit beans with pork, $5.95
Macaroni & Cheese, $7.95
Desserts
I’m sure after stuffing your face with barbecue and delicious sides, you’ll have room for dessert. Probably not, but after looking at the menu, you may opt for one of the many choices cuz they’re only $7.95 each.
Key Lime Pie
Ice cold key lime custard in homemade honey graham crust
Warm Pear and Sour Cherry Crisp
Served with toasted almond ice cream
Drinks
They have a nice selection of beer, bourbon and whiskies available. Just read the blackboard above the bar (or look at the extensive menu). If you’re here for lunch, I say skip out because you’ll have a serious food coma. =)
