Croissants are my weakness. Rich, buttery, flaky. Eaten with a hot cup of coffee, croissants are my go-to for breakfast when I’m out and about. In celebration of National Croissant Day, here are my top spots for this delicious pastry.
Maman
22 W 25th Street, New York, NY 10010 + other locations in NYC
Maman is my new addiction. They sell a variety of croissants available daily. Believe it or not, I’ve tried all except their Pistachio Chocolate croissant, which is probably amazing. My favorite is their white chocolate lavender croissant (shown top), but you can’t go wrong with any of the 9 they offer.
Bien Cuit
Grand Central Marketplace, 89 East 42nd Street, New York, NY 10017
Since they took over the Zaro’s stall, I stop here en route to the office. I love their Kale & Feta croissant, amongst other pastries they bake.
Taralucci e Vino
44 E 28th St, New York, NY 10016
Their almond croissant is one of the best, but if you see their Spinach and Parmigiano Reggiano croissant, get it.
La Pecora Bianca
1133 Broadway (at 26th Street), New York, NY 10010
LPB offers 3 delicious croissants – plain, chocolate and almond.
Maison Kayser
Locations throughout NYC
I’m shocked I don’t have a photo of their croissants. That’s probably because I devoured them quickly. But Maison Kayser’s pastries are fantastic, and so is their chocolate croissant. It’s a tie between their pain au chocolat and almond croissant – equally magnifique.
