Picadillo is my go-to dish when I want a comforting meal cooked in under half an hour. My version of picadillo is a cross of Cuban and Filipino styles. Filipino-style Picadillo normally has potatoes and carrots. My version just has 6 ingredients and I can get this cooked in 20 minutes.
Beef Picadillo
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp sofrito
- 3 tbsp pitted olives
- Goya Adobo seasoning to taste
Directions
- In a medium pot over medium heat, brown ground beef. Drain oil.
- Add garlic, sofrito, tomato sauce, olives, and season with Adobo
- Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring often.
- Serve hot over white rice.
NOTE: You can continue to simmer the picadillo over low heat if your rice is still cooking. The longer it sits, the more flavorful the dish will be as the flavors will marry.
