Amis Trattoria, one of our favorite restaurants in Westport, has recently launched their brunch menu. Every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am til 3pm, Amis serves up an Italian spin on brunch classics. Some of their new menu items include Avocado Toast, Vegetable Frittata, Eggs in Purgatory, and French Toast. They’ve also launched new cocktails including a blood orange mimosa and blackberry and elderflower bellini.
We highly recommend trying the Avocado Toast. Their version is grilled semolina bread smothered with ripe avocado and topped with sliced cherry tomatoes, feta, baby basil, and a drizzle of olive oil. Paired with a Blackberry and Elderflower Bellini, you’ll start your weekend right.
The Pastry Basket is baked fresh in the morning. In it are warm chocolate croissants, berry danishes, cinnamon rolls, and toasted semolina bread. The croissant connoisseur I am absolutely loves their croissants – rich and flakey with the right amount of chocolate. I had a hard time sharing it.
The Vegetable Frittata easily topped my favorite frittata list, knocking out their sister restaurant, Terrain Garden Cafe, off the list. The hearty frittata is very filling with loads of seasonal vegetables and goat cheese and is served with a side of crispy home fries.
The Prosciutto Eggs Benedict is a big portion of toasted semolina bread topped with crispy prosciutto, poached eggs, a drizzle of hollandaise, and sprinkle of fresh basil.
On the sweeter side of brunch, we recommend their French Toast topped with seasonal berries, whipped cream, and Vermont maple syrup. You can have it as an entree or a dessert.
They also have options for the little diners but with ours enjoyed the French Toast.
Overall, we were pleased with the brunch experience at Amis. We look forward to trying the rest of their brunch menu. Maybe we’ll see you there.
