The Capital Grille recently launched a new bar menu filled with traditional bar menu classics such as a cheeseburger and lobster rolls as well as signature classics such as a 14 oz. Dry Aged NY Strip and the Sliced Filet Mignon. We’ve dined at The Capital Grille many times, but have never tried the bar menu. So when we were invited to sample their new offerings, we gladly accepted.
The bar menu is divided into Cocktail Plates to Share, Soups, Salads, & Sandwiches, Entrees and Sides. You’ll also find delicious cocktails and wine by the glass. For starters we ordered fresh oysters and sipped on a glass white wine from their impressive wine list. The Cast Iron Garlic Shrimp with Olive Oil Crostini and Mini Lobster and Crab Burgers are two delicious items to try off the Cocktail Plates to Share menu. I’d order the shrimp dish again, and maybe keep it to myself as a main course. The burgers were good, but had a big bread to protein ratio. I’d rather have the regular crab cakes off the Dinner Appetizer menu instead – less carbs and more meat for $4 more.
Off the entrée menu, we tried the Chilean Sea Bass with Mushroom Soy Broth, a delicious dish with perfectly seared sea bass served with delicate soy broth with sherry accents and oyster mushrooms. It was my first time having a seafood dish as an entrée at CG and I was impressed. We also enjoyed our usual Porcini-rubbed Bone-in Ribeye.
I’m looking forward to the warmer weather and savoring their bar menu out on the patio.
