March 1st kicks off Japan Week in NYC, a celebration of Japanese cuisine and culture that aims to promote a deeper understanding of Japan through a positive image of its food. From March 1 – 3 in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, guests can eat enticing foods from Japanese restaurants and companies hailing from NYC or Japan. There will also be cooking demonstrations (with free tastings!) and music and dance performances.
The celebration will continue at the Japan Pavilion at the International Restaurant Show from March 4 – 6 (open to the restaurant trade only), and on March 7 – 11 is Dine Out for Japan.
During Dine Out for Japan Restaurant Week, you can help support the Japan Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami relief efforts by dining out at restaurants in NYC. Participating restaurants will donate a portion of their Dine Out for Japan sales to the Japan relief fund.
