On the busy Route 17 South, you’ll find a bright yellow building called the Hot Dog House. With a small parking lot that fits up to 5 cars, you might have to park off the highway to sink your teeth into one of their “dirty water dogs” (yes, they’re boiled).
On the menu are a variety of dogs under $2 and the typical fried foods to accompany them (fries – prepared in various ways – and onion rings).
Our dog picks:
- Dee’s Special (ketchup, beans, relish, fresh raw onions)
- Jersey Dog (mustard, raw onions and a slice of dill pickle)
- Gange Green (sauerkraut, relish)

The fries are okay. Overall, good fast food made by friendly folks. Not bad for a quick stopover when traveling in the area. They have counter seating inside and several picnic tables outside.
