Coromandel Cuisine of India, formerly known as Dakshin, in Stamford serves up great Indian food at reasonable prices. I’ve been dining here since the restaurant was called Dakshin. The quality of the food has not changed over the course of the 3 years I’ve dined here, and I still remain a loyal customer. The staff are very friendly, and the ambiance is great.
My top 3 recommendations:
- Chicken Tikka Masala, $17.95 – chicken broiled in a Tandoori oven and cooked in creamy tomato curry sauce.
- Chana Masala, $13.95 – chick peas cooked with fresh tomatoes, onions and ginger in a special masala.
- Palak Paneer, $14.95 – My all-time favorite dish, and they do it right here: Homemade cottage cheese cubes cooked in spinach gravy.
What makes this restaurant even better is it participates in Village Vines with a 30% off your check deal. If you plan on dining here, I recommend you take advantage of that.
Coromandel also has 6 others locations in NY/CT: New Rochelle, Darien, South Norwalk, Southport, Orange, and Newtown.
