Bar Rojo is a chic bar at the Grand Hyatt, located on the base of the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. Just some notes:
- Margaritas, flights of Tequila, glasses of wine and lots of ceviche
- Carrera white X-shaped tables with faux snakeskin barstools
- Paintings of 2 parrots (a cockatiel and an Amazon kissing the lips of an olive complexion lady. How cute.
- Music that doesn’t match the ambiance, but hey, if it’s a Friday night and you’re out to have a drink with your buddies – does it really matter? Maybe not. (Ashanti…Gnarles Barkley…the some other R&B artist)
But it’s a bar that allows kids to sit around on the couches and stare at the TV while eating ice cream sundaes.
My drink of choice for the night – Red Truck Cab – okay, not a very strong Cabernet. Save the wine for a mellow spot. Have a cocktail here instead…and pray that kids aren’t playing with the floor lamp switches! Whoops! An adult just played with the light switch.
Go downstairs to Achiote.
