and shopping/browsing. It’s the eve of my birthday so I decided to stroll through the city. I got an invite in the mail last week for the BR Luxe Event which was to start at 8pm tonight. I got out of work at 6 and had 2 hours to kill. I walked to Union Square because the weather was oh-so-nice. Hopped on the 6 and went to Bloomies on Lex. Today was the last day of the Private Sale, so I had to see if they had anything worthwhile (even though I went to Bloomies SoHo on Tuesday). Didn’t find anything so I just walked down to Rockefeller Center. It was a nice, crisp night…people were heading out to the bars, while I was strolling with my iPod on and enjoying my walk down 5th Ave. Down past Tiffany to Bendel to Gucci to Cartier. How I thought of all the stuff I want. But what do I want for my birthday? I still don’t know. I just know I can’t wait to get my cut and highlights done tomorrow by my fave stylist – Aki from Salon Vijin in Rockefeller Plaza. When I looked inside Cartier I thought about the darling watch I want, but… it can wait til Fall. I don’t think I’d want to rock a watch during the spring/summer, especially when I have a bunch of cute bracelets to wear… especially the ones by De Ari. I arrived in Rockefeller…you can tell it was tourist season again because crowds of Euro teens were gathered in front of St. Patrick’s. I went to J.Crew to find the blazer I knew I shoulda bought last week, but they didn’t have anymore. I tried on the shoes I’ve been dieing to get, but tried them on to find out they were a bit too high. Not worth $300 if you can’t walk in ’em. So cross that out (see posting “Searching for Sexy Open Toe Slingbacks“).
It was 7.40 – 20 more minutes to kill. I was hungry, but all the shops in the Concourse were closed, Morrell’s – too packed, but then I remembered I had a French Baguette in my bag. Ripped off a piece of bread and headed to Saks. Went to the 5th floor and saw a bunch of Paris Hilton-look-alike-or-wannabe models modeling the new summer clothes. Walked around 5 and didn’t find anything. Went down to 4, found a darling pair of Choo’s (see left. Image Credit – www.saks.com). Sexy! Tried some Gucci pumps while some haters looked on… but that didn’t seem to work. I need to try the Sigerson’s next.
Last stop – BR – had Saratoga water with lime, then a glass of Chardonnay. In summary – picked up a silk robe, gauchos in cream (perfect for vacation) and a pair of army green slacks. All for $130. Not bad…
