La Hacienda Don Manuel is a great Mexican restaurant in Suffern, NY (Rockland County). Entrees range from $10-$15, and the portions are big.
For starters, they serve you fresh chips and salsa. Their salsa might be the best I’ve ever had – with freshly diced onions and cilantro; and on the mild side in terms of heat.

If you’re with a group, I recommend ordering a pitcher of margaritas or sangria to get the fiesta started. Or you can grab a beer for about $4. If you’ve got an appetite, get the guacamole, which they prepare table-side.
I haven’t had a bad dish at this restaurant, and that’s why I’ve been a patron for over 5 years. Of all the dishes, my favorite is the fried fish, a decent sized whole red snapper fried to perfection. You can order it 3 ways – the best are plain or diablo (with fried onions and garlic).
