It’s picnic season and Davio’s Manhattan will be offering Gourmet Picnic Basket Pick-Ups this summer. Davio’s Picnic Basket will be available starting June 21st through August 2016.
Park-goers can call ahead and place an order for the Davio’s Picnic Basket, which includes a full three-course meal for only $115 (including tax and gratuity). The basket includes a selection of two fresh salads, two sandwiches, two desserts, and your choice of still or sparkling water along with a complementary blanket. After enjoying their delightful and satisfying meal, while admiring the natural beauty of NYC’s parks, al fresco foodies have the option to keep their basket, or return it to the restaurant for a refund of $50.
We had a chance to sample Davio’s picnic basket menu for Memorial Day weekend. I placed my order in advance, picked it up at the Lexington Avenue location after 5pm, hopped on my train at Grand Central Terminal and headed back home to Connecticut. In about an hour, I had a picnic on my deck with my family and enjoyed three delicious courses, including the Arugula and Farro Salads, Salumi & Formaggio on Roasted Garlic Focaccia, and Bisteca & Rafano on a French Style Baguette. The portions were satisfying and enough to feed three people.
Would we order it again? Definitely. Considering the price ($65 after returning the basket), this is a great deal for quality food.
