I’m looking forward to the warm weather (especially with these cold temperatures, and snow flurries!) and the return of the pop-up food markets throughout the city, particularly Mad. Sq. Eats which is set up a block away from my office. Urbanspace, the leading creator of markets in the US and UK, has a full schedule of pop-up markets around Manhattan lined up for when the mercury rises. With favorites like Mexicue, AsiaDog, Red Hook Lobster Pound growing at Urbanspace before blowing up, you just might get a taste of New York’s next best restaurant while you’re there.
- Mad. Sq. Eats: 4/30-5/27—Nestled in Worth Square next to Madison Square Park, this Urbanspace market will include newcomers Gotham Poke, the latest Hawaiian Poke purveyor to hit Manhattan, and MeltKraft, which makes grilled cheeses made exclusively from dairy raised on their proprietary farm in upstate New York. Others vendors will include Roberta’s, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Hong Kong Street Cart, and more.
I can’t wait to try Gotham Poke!
- Urbanspace Garment District: 5/16-6/24 (closed Sundays)—Spanning 39th to 41st street on Broadway, Urbanspace Garment District will welcome Emmet’s Deep Dish Pizza and The Squeeze raw foods to the Garment District. Past market favorites, including Domo Taco and Paella Shack will be there serving up Kimchi Falafel and guava sangria to the hungry crowd.
- Broadway Bites: 6/3-7/17—Located at Greenly Square on 34th st, this pop-up market showcases a mix of both established chefs and up-and-coming talent. The application window has just closed and we’re happy to send updates by request.
