1800nycbagels.com Review and Giveaway

Being a native New Yorker, I’ve eaten plenty of bagels – plenty of good ones, plenty of bad. Now that I live in Connecticut, I find it hard to find a good NYC style bagel – the perfect crust, doughy and chewy.

Fortunately, I was introduced to 1800nycbagels.com recently with a dozen sent to directly to my house. The variety pack of bagels I received included the following flavors: plain, everything, sesame, pumpernickel, multi-grain and cinnamon raisin bagels. 6 were consumed within a couple days, and the remainder were put in the freezer for a month. Why freeze them? Included in the package was a set of “Helpful Hints.” One of the hints read:

“Slice Bagels before freezing, freeze for no longer than four months. Place Bagels in a freezer bag. About 6 to a bag. Seal tightly. Use toaster function to defrost then toast.”

I wanted to test out the quality of their bagels even after freezing them. To my surprise, it was as good as a fresh bagel.

So what was my favorite bagel? I’d say it was a tie between the everything and the pumpernickel bagels. Both with a schmear of cream cheese or butter.

If you would like to try out 1800nycbagels.com’s delicious bagels, here’s your chance! 1800nycbagels.com has generously offered to send one of my readers a bagel pack. You can enter up to four times.
