Yotteko-Ya is one of many ramen shops in Oahu located on the second level of the McCully Shopping Center.
The first time I tried to dine here, there was a long wait, so I headed elsewhere (I’ll blog about that later). I finally was able to get in, during a weekday early lunch, and it was well worth the second attempt.
As soon as we were seated, we were handed our menus which had a cute cover story:
Eat Yotteko-Ya’s Ramen and Look Younger!
Our homemade soup is simmered for over 10 hours with the choicest pork, the freshest chickens and 10 different vegetables and spices. This meticulous process produces a uniquely thick collagen rich stock that will actually help prevent aging of skin and joints.
So, please enjoy our soup to the last drop and look younger!
Paitan Ramen Paitan based soup. Topped with 2 slices of homemade chashu |
What was I thinking? Yes! Must eat ramen!
Here’s what we ordered:
- D Combo Set, $13.45 – Tonshio Ramen, Karaage (3 small pieces of fried chicken), and fried rice
- Paitan Ramen, $7.45 – topped with 2 slices of homemade chashu
The broth of the soups we ordered was so rich and flavorful. The noodles cooked perfectly – you have a choice of Japanese style (traditional) or Local style (softer).
The fried chicken was perfect too. Who knew eating fried chicken and ramen would be such a perfect match. Oh, and don’t forget the fried rice.
I’m at a loss of words because all I can think of it how much I was saying “Mmm” over and over while eating lunch.
I highly recommend it. So if you’re in the Honolulu area, and want a good bowl of quality ramen, head here.
