Kauai: Shrimp Station, Waimea

After a long, strenuous hike in Waimea, we needed to refuel. The first stop off the highway was a roadside restaurant called the Shrimp Station. They serve shrimp – fried, tacos, burgers, or plated peel n’ eat.

We ordered the coconut fried shrimp and chips, supposedly the best on the planet. Can you verify that?

A bit greasy for my liking, but hey, it’s fried, right. But not too bad. Very ‘meaty’ and filling, so you can share it with a friend, or even split it amongst a group of friends as an appetizer.
