Start your weekend off right with a delicious brunch at Cask Republic in South Norwalk. Their new brunch menu features something for everyone including classic brunch items with a CR touch, salads and sandwiches. Got a picky eater? They also have a children’s menu.
The new thirst-quenching cocktail menu was created under the direction of their Beverage Manager, Lyles Williams, who puts a twist on traditional brunch cocktails. Each priced at $6, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Our favorites are the Bloody Mary and Michelada.
The Food
Portions are big. If you’re dining with a group, I recommend sharing the dishes. I enjoyed the CR Omelette made with oyster mushrooms, spinach, and feta cheese accompanied with home fries and toast. The Smoked Salmon Plate with toast, pickled red onions, caper vinaigrette, and dill crème fraîche is light and delicious. For a meatier option, try the Steak and Eggs. It comes with a hickory smoked grilled ribeye, two eggs sunny side up (or any other way you prefer – we chose over-easy), pickled red onions, spicy orange glaze, and home fries. If you love their House Made Lamb Pastrami Reuben, try a side of their Lamb Pastrami Hash.
Sweet Ending
Save room for dessert. Our favorites are the Honey Crisp Apple Crumble and their rich Crème Brûlée.
For the Little Appetites
Cask Republic has also rolled out a children’s menu offering five children meal classics priced at $6 per dish. The kids menu is offered seven days a week during lunch and dinner, this menu will definitely satisfy your little ones’ appetites. Our Foodie Kai enjoyed a kids size serving of Cask Republic’s delicious Spiced Apple Pancakes topped with fresh cream, pure maple syrup, and salted caramel sauce.
