Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. Crisp air. Sweater weather. Apples. And comfort foods, like soup and chowder. The New England Chowdafest, presented by Stop & Shop will take place this Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT from 11am to 3pm.

At Chowdafest guests can sample chowder from 40 restaurants from all over New England and as far away as Seattle. You’ll get to enjoy unlimited samples and rate competition entries to help choose the best soups across four categories: Classic New England Clam Chowder; Traditional Chowder exclusively for Rhode Island (clear broth) and Manhattan Clam Chowders (tomato based); Creative Chowders; and Soup & Bisque.

Participating restaurants include Parallel Post (their Seafood Chowder is shown above), Little Barn, and Crave 52.

More than just soup, at Chowdafest you can also enjoy the Italian themed “Ciao”dafest with freshly baked artisan breads and premium pasta sauces or sample premium chips and salsas plus a hatch green chili stew in the “ChowdaMex” section. You can sample juices, teas, sparkling beverages and more, plus there’s a sweet treat section that includes cheese, yogurt, cookies and farm fresh milk & ice cream as well.
