When we travel, we make sure we end the trip on a good note – with a great meal and since it was a Sunday, we decided to have brunch at Castle Hill Inn. Castle Hill Inn has a waterfront restaurant offering exceptional dining in a gorgeous setting. The food is sourced from Rhode Island’s local farmers and fishermen, including Farm Fresh Rhode Island, Bally Machree Farm, Baby Greens farm, Elysian Fields Farm, Farmstead Cheese, Sakonnet Oyster Company, and Anthony’s Seafood.
The brunch menu features the classics as well as a few New England dishes. We started with an assortment of pastries. Served on a platter are resh baked apple bread, buttery croissants, and mini blueberry muffins with a blueberry jam. When in New England, a cup of clam chowder is a must. Made with milk instead of heavy cream, the New England Clam Chowder with a black pepper-thyme biscuit is a light starter. Each spoonful is packed with big pieces of clam.

I enjoyed the special of the day was an omelette made with ricotta, spinach and cremini mushrooms served with a savory Parmigiano and Potato Gratin.

Castle Hill Inn’s signature dish, Maine Lobster and Potato Hash, was amazing. Big chunks of lobster, poached eggs, chive crème fraîche. Served with your choice of bread.

To drink, we recommend any of their brunch cocktails. The Bloody Mary is a perfect blend of spicy, salty, and sweet. The Blood Orange Bellini was a refreshing mix of Prosecco, peachtree, and blood orange. The Blueberry Lemonade, made with blueberry vodka, St. Germain, lemonade, and fresh blueberries, is an excellent drink to have during the meal or while sitting on an Adirondack out on the Castle Hill Inn lawn.
We highly recommend dining at Castle Hill Inn. If you don’t get a chance to dine here, stopping by for a cocktail on the lawn is a must while in Newport.
