Baci Gelato was founded in 2005 by Doron Bensusan and Allen Aingorn in Williston Park, Long Island. Since then they’ve opened a couple locations in Manhattan – at the Plaza Hotel and Limelight Marketplace. Baci Gelato uses all natural ingredients from Italy to make their decadent gelato. Their display case has over 20 flavors of gelato and sorbetto to sample, and enjoy.
My favorite flavors are pistachio (with chunks of pistachio in it) and the panna cotta, which really tastes like panna cotta without the gelatin-like consistency.
A few things caught my eye while I was at the shoppe:
- They sell soy gelato for those who are lactose-intolerant.
- They’ve also got gelato pops if you don’t want to eat your gelato out of a cup or cone.
- They make crepes (I’ll save that for another visit).
So if you’re near any of their three locations, stop by and let me know what you think.
Tidbit: You might find coupons on their website or on Groupon.
