Shake Shack is one of my favorite spots to get a burger in NYC, especially since its original location is near my office. I remember the days when there was only one Shake Shack, and people would line up to get a juicy burger, and they still do. Well, the famous Shake Shack opened up throughout Manhattan, and into D.C. and even in the Middle East. Pretty soon, they’ll be opening up in Westport, CT. Theresa Mullen, director of marketing and communication at Union Square Hospitality Group, the parent company of Shake Shack, told The Daily Fairfield, “We hope to be open by the end of July.”
I’m looking forward to it, because the delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine will be accessible to me when I’m at work, or at home. Yes!!!
For those who haven’t had Shake Shack, their Single Hamburger, $3.75, is great. (I’m a plain ol’ gal who likes regular burgers). The ShackBurger™ is a favorite of my chef brother. It’s a burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Shack sauce, $4.75. You can add an extra patty and go double for $7.75. Their ‘Shroom Burger is the only vegetarian item on the menu – fried portobello filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato and Shack sauce. My vegetarian friends approve of it.
No meal is complete without a drink, or even a shake. And if you’re at the Shake Shack, you’ve gotta get a shake. I love their Black & White shake. The concretes are awesome too. But pay attention to their calendar of shakes; you’ll never know what nifty flavor will pop up on the menu. An example: Honey Roasted Peanut and Coffee & Donuts.
