Amsterdam: Tea Bar

In Amsterdam, you’ll find a lot of cafes, but rarely a tea bar…and this one is a gem.

Tea Bar (Twitter handle: @deTeaBar) is a tea house in the neighborhood of Zeeheldenbuurt. Tea Bar sells over 70 different loose teas ranging from black to green to herbal. You can smell the wonderful aroma as soon as you step into the store. There are many transparent cases for you to view, and sniff, their fine selection of teas. Just ask the staff for help if you cannot decide which variety to get. You can either have it packed to brew at home, or have them brew it and enjoy it at their store.

I decided to mellow out with a pot of freshly brewed tea on their upstairs level while reading their collection of magazines. Definitely a relaxing experience, and no one rushes you to finish your drink. I think I spent an hour sharing a pot of tea with my husband.
