Fiesta Restaurant is one of the my favorite restaurants in Stamford, and probably one of the first I’ve ever dined at when I first moved to CT. Fiesta Restaurant serves up delicious Peruvian, which is better than the newer restaurant, Chavín, located a few stores down.
The restaurant is small and is often packed, especially during dinner. The food is great. Portions are pretty big. You can share an appetizer and meal with someone and still be satisfied. Prices range from $6 to $13 for appetizers; entrees from $7 to $14.
My recommendations
- Lomo Saltado – their most popular meat dish, and my favorite as well. Strips of pepper steak sauteed with onions, tomatoes, and Peruvian seasonings. Served over fries, with white rice on the side. Definitely the best I’ve had in the tri-state area. $12
- Camarones al Ajo – Lightly battered shrimp served with a fresh garlic sauce. $14
- Pescado Entero Frito – Fried whole fish of the day (usually red snapper), served with rice and salad. $16
- Fried fillets of fish with an onion salad on top served with yuca – this was taken off the menu, but sometimes if you ask for it, they’ll make it for you
- 1⁄2 Pollo a la Brasa – 1/2 Rotisserie chicken – moist and flavorful. Enough for 1 person, and a low price of $7
- For dessert, their flan is excellent.
I’ve heard the ceviche here is great, but I haven’t tried it yet.
Skip on the Chaufa, Peruvian fried rice – Not worth it.
So if you’re in the area, and debating on Chavín or Fiesta, stop at Fiesta.
