From October 11 through November 19, local restaurants offering Malaysian dishes will dispense FREE samples of Malaysian food from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm weekdays in Manhattan and Queens. Samples available only while supplies last.
Fortunately, the truck was in my area, and I was able to grab a sample of Beef Rendang (Slow-cooked beef with a variety of spices, turmeric rice, and pineapple achar) from Café Asean. Not your typically spicy Malaysian dish, as how I’m used to it being prepared, but pretty good.
My gripe: the truck didn’t sell dishes. So I was left a bit disappointed.
