I was in desperate need of some moisturizer for my face – particularly my forehead. I went on a road trip this past weekend to Philly. Who knew having the top down (on the convertible) and driving for 2 hours would cause my skin to get burned. Lack of SPF could be it. But 2 hours! Anyway, my Ellen Lange glycolic peel wasn’t doing justice, nor was my DDF pumice exfoliator. So I met up with my best friend after work and went to Sephora for some relief. Our “consultant” recommended a bunch of products. Somehow we managed to sample perfumes, lip plumpers, GoSmile, moisturizers, eye creams, and whatever our hearts desired. Anyway, I didn’t pick up what I intended to buy, but I did get a sample of it – Cellex-C Skin Hydration Complex. I tried some on my face, and miraculously the darn dry patches on my skin vanished. I’m impressed. So we shall see how these samples work out. If it’s good, I’ll let you know, and of course, I’ll buy some for myself.
Ah – I also picked up some eye cream – Murad Moisture Silk Eye Cream. I sampled some on my hand and it felt great – not too thick, not too greasy – just right. I’ll keep you posted on the results (if any).
After spending nearly an hour at Sephora, we trekked out to Greenwich Village in search of a bistro, or something that fell within our budget. We stumbled upon a restaurant/bar called Boxers on 190 W. 4th St – between Sixth Ave. and Barrow St. I had a glass of Markwest Pinor Noir. Sorry, I’m not good at explaining the taste of the wine (YET), but it was excellent! Mind you, I’m not a big fan of red wine. Anyway, we had a cheeseburger, fries, and calamari. The burger and fries were excellent. Burger was juicy and melted in our mouths. Fries – reminds me of Houston’s fries, but thicker. Calamari – might as well get a side order of fries than order this appetizer. Overall, great food, great drinks. Yeah – I finished my buddy’s hard apple cider. Delicious! Here’s their menu. The weekend is coming soon and more adventures to come.
